I Also LoveYou now know a lot about one of my passions in life, and here I’d like to share a bit about two of my other loves.
BEING A MOMMA
If you are a parent, you probably understand that being David’s mother is the most valuable part of my life. Nothing compares. I consider it an honor and blessing and thank him every day for letting me be his momma. He is the joy and deepest love of my life.
I know I am a much better mother to him than I could have been while I was stuck in my overeating cycle. He is a huge motivator for me to keep on the road less traveled with food. He sees me as a loving, happy, playful, silly and beautiful momma, and tells me this and other kind things on a daily basis. I thank God that he has not had to experience me when I was out of control with my eating, overweight, self-loathing and depressed.
Since he came along I am even more deeply committed to doing all I can to take care of my body, mind and spirit—so that I can be here for him until I am at least 86. I figure by the time he is 53, he’ll be set with a firm foundation of my love and support!
BEING A SINGER
I’ve been singing professionally for over twenty years—in many and varied venues, such as; churches, restaurants, coffee houses, clubs, conferences, balls, schools and benefit concerts—enjoying most of all singing about my favorite subject, love.
I have also, in recent years, been honored and blessed to sing with wonderful speakers and authors, at services, workshops and/or conferences, such as;
| ~ Rev. Terry Cole Whittaker ~ Fr. Leo Booth ~ Rev. Brian Anderson ~ Dr. Harry Morgan Moses D.D. ~ Brother Ishmael N. O. Tetteh |
~ Scott Kalechstein ~ Rev. Diane Harmony ~ Terry Mc Bride ~ Rev.s Dr.s Les and Audrey Turner ~ Rev. Nancy B. Berrgren ~ Charley Thweatt |
~ Raphael Kushnir ~ Rev. Dr. O.C. Smith ~ Colin Tipping ~ Patrick J. Harbula ~ Dr. Roberta Shaler |
Love Concerts
At nineteen, I put on my first “Love Concert,” to say thank you to the many people who had loved and supported me while growing up. Feeling deeply grateful and knowing that others love had helped me to stay on purpose with my deepest calling—to learn how to love as God loves—I sang and shared my beliefs about life, God and love to about eighty loved ones and afterwards we shared coffee and caught up with one another.
A couple of years later I felt called to do this again, but this time, I wanted the general public to feel welcome as well, so, I called my local paper to put a little blurb in the entertainment section.
I received a call from the editor of the paper asking me to say more about this “Love Concert.” After I explained it, the editor asked me if I could send her a photo and if she could have one of her writers call me to do a phone interview. Of course I said yes to both and the Thursday before my second Love Concert I was surprised to see my photo on the cover of the paper, the entertainment section and with a beautiful article written about me and the upcoming concert, entitled, “Mendham singer uses voice to bring people together.”
That Saturday evening when my friends Bill Henry, the guitarist, Jen Carlin, the pianist, and I walked out we were surprised to see a near three hundred people waiting for us. Never seeing myself as an entertainer, but feeling that God had simply blessed me with a voice that I loved to use for good, as I fumbled along, those present laughed, enjoyed and afterwards voiced their appreciation for a wonderful, inspiring evening.
If you are interested in putting on a Love Concert at your venue or attending one that I already have on the calendar, please call me at (760) 842-1114
I am also available to sing for weddings, funerals, benefit concerts and special occasions and can provide music that supports the message of an inspirational author and/or speaker.

My CD~ And So I Dance
After many years of listeners asking me to record a tape or CD, so that they could listen to my voice as they drove to work or went about their day, in 2000, And So I Dance~ Soothing Songs for Your Soul, my first CD, came out.
A mix of my favorite love songs—this CD was created to inspire myself and listeners to stay true to ourselves and God, to follow our inner guidance, to enjoy our blessed lives and to live out our dreams.
Sort of like a Love Concert on CD, I encourage listeners to read my liner notes, while listening to the CD for the first time and as inspired. I have included a couple of original songs; And So I Dance and Sweet Child and some familiar favorites as well, such as; Angel, True Colors, The Rose, Amazing Grace, What a Wonderful World and Over The Rainbow.
I’d like to give you a heads up, though, about Believe In Yourself, from The Wiz. It probably should have been down half a step for my voice.
Although, some love it, as is—others think it is too high, so if you are one of the latter, maybe you can listen to it at least once for the message contained in the words, and from then on feel free to just fast forward to Everything’s Alright, from Jesus Christ Superstar and this will soothe you.
Our Love Will Go On, one of David and my favorites, is actually the popular My Heart Will Go On, rewritten by me to God and then all of us.
With so much love going into it, the quality of my voice, and the words—many have said that just listening to it raises their vibration, connecting them with a greater sense of love, joy and peace.

Here are some thoughts that others have shared about "And So I Dance":
“Oh would you stop being so hard to get along with? You are so easy to work with. You are a born recording artist. I wish all of my projects were this fun. You record so well. You are a natural.
Really, I’ve worked with many singers and it takes them so many takes to get one line down well, and you walk in here, sing it once, and you’re right on—a natural! I don’t have to adjust the EQ at all. You are already at the level others work so hard to get to. I love to record your voice. It’s so easy. I just had a good vibe from the beginning about this. Forget learning how to play the piano. Find people like me to do that and you sing! You are wonderful!”
Bert Dalton—Jazz pianist and producer, Santa Fe, NM
“With great joy we have listened to your CD, And So I Dance!!! It is incredible! Your voice is an epiphany…as we have heard about it, and you, all of your adult life, but we have never been fortunate, as now, to ever hear you. What gifts you have—and I am more than delighted to see all of them, with the greatest gift of all, that of your love for all of us! And especially for God. Thank you. Thank you, Kathy, for being yourself and freeing up the beauty inside of you, as well as outside!!! As you quoted from Mandela, it invites us too, to be free!”
Storm and Cafer Barus
“To the voice that sounds like an angel, it’s an absolutely beautiful CD. It’s just so well put together. One song is as pretty as the next. Thank you so much. It immediately connects me to my spiritual side and makes me grateful to be alive, well and so blessed and so I dance!”
